elimpark-volunteer-optOne of the things that makes Elim Park such a special place to be is the active and diverse community of volunteers who participate in a variety of rewarding activities here. Our volunteers range in age from teenagers to people in their mid-nineties, as well as parents and younger children working as teams.

Volunteer Application Forms

If you are interested in working with us, you're welcome to fill out our application.

Information and Orientation

Volunteers are asked to complete an application process that includes background information, orientation and training. The Director of Volunteers provides education classes to volunteers interested in topics related to working with our residents. 


Time slots are available for volunteer work during daytime, evening and weekends, and we also have special events needing project volunteers. We try to provide flexible hours to fit your schedule.

Volunteer Activities

Activity Assistants · Volunteers organize and lead recreation activities of interest to residents, help with transporting or escorting residents to and from activities, monitor resident activity and help with set up and clean up of activity areas (approximately 1.5 hours per activity).

Clothing Assistants · Volunteers assist residents in maintaining personal clothing, including helping with minor alterations or repairs of personal items such as blankets and throws pillows (approximately 2–3 hours per month).

Craft Coordinators · Volunteers organize and help with instruction on craft projects with residents (afternoon hours preferable).

Friendly Visitors · Volunteers spend time talking and reminiscing, taking in some history with residents. Volunteers can provide assistance to residents participating in activities, or just visit on a one to one basis (flexible hours, weekly visits of approximately 1 hour are encouraged).

Gardeners · Volunteers help with overall maintenance of gardens on the grounds. Volunteers should be able to lift and carry light objects and be comfortable and stretch safely (spring, summer, and fall daytime hours are available).

elimpark-volunteer-02-optHosts and Hostesses · Volunteers help with special events, providing tours of Elim Park and helping to answer visitors' questions about events and the community (hours needed as events are scheduled).

Musicians · If you have musical talent and enjoy performing, Elim Park Health Care residents make a very appreciative audience (hours are flexible).

Office Services · For those who enjoy working in an office setting and have clerical skills, several of our departments need help with office tasks (hours are flexible).

Rehabilitation Attendants · Volunteers assists the professionals in the Rehabilitation Center with various tasks, including taking walks with residents, transporting patients by wheelchair to therapy, and assisting therapists with activities as needed (morning hours are preferred).

Special Project Volunteers · If you have a special talent, and enjoy working with the elderly, this position would be a great match. Volunteer hours are flexible in this position.

Nelson Hall Usher · Volunteers help out with programs at Nelson Hall Center for the Performing Arts with greeting, taking tickets, distributing programs, ushering patrons to seats and checking coats (approximately 1-3 hours depending upon program length).
