Elim Park Health Care Center:

Good news to share!

We are pleased to begin this update with very good news.  Tomorrow, May 30, several residents who have recovered from the virus and are symptom-free will be taken off precautions.  This will impact the vast majority of residents who’ve tested positive for Covid-19.  Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for staff such as Tyvek suits and face shields will no longer be required in caring for these residents.  This is indeed a positive step forward and something residents, families and staff have long been waiting for.

Gardens and chicks

Life Enrichment staff and other Health Center volunteers have been busy preparing the vegetable gardens for residents to enjoy this summer.  Plantings include lettuce, kale, broccoli, spinach, peppers, rhubarb and tomatoes.  We look forward to residents enjoying the garden courtyard and summer harvest.

We are growing by peeps and bounds!  The newest members of our Elim Park family include a brood of 28 adorable baby chicks. This flock includes 8 different breeds of chickens that have become part of our farm family of ducks, goats and our very special therapy dog, Livia.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram and watch them grow!

Elim Park Place – Independent Living

As the state of Connecticut begins to reopen, we are have also initiated a slow and thoughtful approach to reopening Elim Park Place.  All steps must be approved by the Chesprocott Health District, and each phase is contingent upon the success of the prior phase.  We hope to provide residents with a detailed plan of our phased reopening next week.  However, we remain optimistic as we announce the following changes:

The Fitness & Wellness Center

Reopened on Tuesday with temporary limitations/capacity restrictions.

The Elim Park Bakery Company

Effective June 1:  7:00 –   7:30 am for breakfast delivery,  7:00 – 11:00 am for Take-out only

Effective June 8: 11:00 – 11:30 am for lunch delivery, 7:00 am – 2:00 pm for Take-out only

Hair Salon:  Reopens on June 1

Another parade comes to Elim Park!

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cheshire will bring a parade of cars through the Elim Park campus this Sunday at approximately 1:45 p.m. to share their smiles and well wishes.  We look forward to welcoming them to our community!

May God bless you and our Elim Park family.
